 About my self

My name is Thathsarani Umangana, and I'm 22 years old this year. I live in the beautiful coastal town of Ambalangoda. a place known for its rich culture and artistic traditions. Growing up in such an environment has greatly influenced my passion for the arts, specially dance.


I am currently an undergraduate at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, where I am studying in the Faculty of Dance and Drama. Dance is not just my field of study—it is a big part of who I am. It allows me to express my emotions, tell stories, and connect with people in a unique and powerful way.


My family is very important to me. I have my loving mother and two sisters who have always supported me in everything I do. Sadly, my father passed away two years ago, and his absence is something I feel deeply. However, his love and guidance continue to inspire me every day to move forward and achieve my dreams.


One of my favorite hobbies is dancing, and I am proud to say that I also conduct dance classes for children. Teaching young dancers brings me so much joy, as I get to share my knowledge and passion while helping them grow with confidence and creativity.


I believe in following my dreams, staying strong through challenges, and spreading happiness through what I love. Dance is my journey, my passion, and my future.

The Saddest Day of My Life

The most saddest day of my life was May 11, 2024, the day my father passed away. I never imagined that such a painful moment would come so suddenly into my life. Losing him left a void that I still struggle to understand and accept. My father was not just a parent, he was my guide, my protector, and my greatest source of strength. My father was everything to me. On that day, I felt an overwhelming sadness that words cannot fully describe, and I could not believe that he was truly gone 💔. Even now, I am amazed at how I managed to cope with the reality of his absence. Yet, I take comfort in knowing that, wherever he is, he is watching over me. My father’s love, guidance, and unwavering support shaped who I am today, and I carry his memory with me in everything I do.   My best friend is Tharushi, and we have shared an incredible friendship for over ten years. She knows everything about my life, from my happiest moments to my deepest struggles. Tharushi is one of the most loyal and understanding friends I have ever met, and her presence always makes me feel safe and supported. She has become my comfort zone, the person I can always rely on without hesitation. The time we spend together is never wasted; it is filled with lively conversations, laughter, and a deep emotional connection that I truly treasure. Whether we are sharing our dreams, offering advice, or simply enjoying each other’s company, every moment strengthens the bond between us.
